Notes about the Church Monumental Inscriptions are from the All Hallows, Church Lane, Tottenham in the Borough of Haringey Map 2015 Project compiled by Susan Rowe. The database began with material from a 1979 list by Roy Sutton & a team of local schoolchildren which was incomplete. The main task of the Project was to draw up a map of the burials including details of the graves & to transcribe the monumental inscriptions. The churchyard was divided into sections: A, B, C, D, E & so forth. The Reference Number in the notes pertains to the section on the map where the grave or monumental inscription is taken from. There are transcripts of headstones & footstones so you may come across two or more entries for the same person (quite a few burials were only identified via the footstones). In some cases the existing list did not include mention of family members found in the Burial Register, these are included in this Project if the dates seemed reasonable (deaths & burials were verified via Parish Burial Registers). Where there are large family vaults older burials have been included. Susan Rowe kindly donated her work to FreeREG for which we thank her immensely. The original 1979 list is housed in Haringey's archives at the Bruce Castle Museum. Please note where dates and details are unavailable the mid range year in the data set (1658) was used so that these undated entries may be searched - if you cannot locate a particular record place 1658 in the year field.
