Notes about the Church | An iron mission church dedicated to ST. CHAD and situated on the corner of Shireland and Edith Roads on part of Shireland Hall farm was opened from the Old Church in 1882. A new church on the same site was begun in 1900 and consecrated in 1901. The church was closed at the end of 1968 and demolished in 1971. In 1970 the parish was united with that of St. Matthew. |
