Register notes : ‘(A space of four pages has been left, after 15th. February 1576-7, for the registers proper, but it seems as if the draft copy had been lost, the above eight being the only entries from that date till 1st July 1578. The rest of the space has been filled at later dates by the Register of seats in the church, as here printed)’. "On p73 of the register the baptisms under May 1760 have been ruled out and a certified copy of the transcripts at York for that month have been inserted/This is a certified copy of the transcript that was delivered to the Consistory Court at York for that period".
