Register notes :	On the front flyleaf of the earliest surviving register is the note "This Register was repaired and rebound at my expense 1885. J. Finch Smith, Rector". This rebinding is likely the cause of the dates of some entries not being visible in the microfilm images, as they run into the binding. The bishop's transcripts have been used to provide such dates in our transcriptions of this register. On a later flyleaf is an older note which says "The old Register Booke of Aldridge began 1558, in the first yeare of Q. Elisabeth, copied out by John Scott, Parson of Aldryche 1598 in the fortieth yeare of Q. Elisabeth. Of which booke every Page is subscribed by the said John Scott Parson, and the two Churchwardens of Aldryche untill the yeare 1618, Thomas Coxe junr and Francis Greatholder subscribing as Churchwardens then." This older register does not survive, nor do any bishop's transcripts before 1660. After 23 May 1678 no burials were recorded in the register until 01 Apr 1724. The burials in our transcript for this period have therefore been taken from the bishop's transcript, but note that the BTs themselves do not survive for the period 27 Apr 1711 - 27 Apr 1714.
