- In the month of June 1865 the iron chest containing the register books belonging to the parish was stolen from the church. This book and the others were exposed for 24 hours to a pouring rain. Many of the names and the dates were obliterated but have been restored from copies filed in the Bishops registry by me Jon C Maletict Vicar Jan 28 1866.
